Ryo, a young man with long blonde hair, saves the life of a drowning husky dog one day after a rain. Years later, Ryo loses his job, girlfriend, and place to live, and is at a loss. It is the dog he rescued that day that reaches out to Ryo. Ryo becomes Kitano's freeloader, a dog who carries a civil servant's business card and wears a fine suit. A wonderful cohabitation begins between a highly conscious dog who looks down on people from above, and a lowly man who doesn't want to work.
