Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account data — email, username, hashed password, display name, optional bio, avatar, and accent color. Your email is private by default.
• Product activity — the lists you build, ratings you give, episodes you log, clips you favorite, rooms you join, and posts you write. This is the core of the product.
• Device & usage telemetry — IP address (truncated for analytics), browser and OS, page views, performance metrics, and error reports. We retain raw IPs for 30 days for fraud and abuse prevention.
• Billing data — handled by Stripe. We see the last four digits of your card and the country of issue. We never see the full card number.

Why we collect it

To operate the Service (your watchlist needs to be saved somewhere), to make it better (we look at aggregated patterns, not individual journeys), to communicate with you (digest emails you can opt out of, transactional emails you can’t), and to protect the Service from abuse.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not run third-party ad networks that track you across other sites. Free-tier ads are first-party and contextual.
• We do not train language models on your private content.

Who we share with

Limited sub-processors, each scoped to a specific job:

• Stripe — billing and payment processing.
• Email delivery — transactional and digest emails.
• Cloud infrastructure — server hosting, CDN, database backups.
• Aggregated analytics — privacy-respecting product analytics with IP truncation.

We may also disclose information in response to a valid legal request, when required to protect the safety of users, or in connection with a corporate transaction (sale, merger, or acquisition) where the acquiring party agrees to honor this policy.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time. Most controls live in Settings; for anything you can’t do yourself, email [email protected] and we’ll respond within 30 days. Residents of the EEA, UK, California, Brazil, and other jurisdictions with comprehensive privacy laws have additional rights including the right to object, restrict processing, and lodge complaints with your local data-protection authority.

Cookies & storage

We use first-party cookies and localStorage for session management, your locale, theme, and continue-watching state. No tracking cookies, no third-party advertising cookies. You can clear these from your browser at any time; signing in again will re-create the session cookie.

Any optional cookie choices are versioned and timestamped so we keep a record of what you agreed to, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time below.

Children

AnimeSphere is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, write to [email protected] and we will delete the account.

To report content that infringes your copyright, send a notice with the standard DMCA elements to [email protected]. We respond to valid notices within 72 hours.

Updates

If we change this policy in a way that affects your rights, we will tell you by email or in-app banner at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
