A Stop-Motion Pokemon Series Arrives in 2027. Here Is What Our Free Kids Shelf Holds Today

Aardman has a stop-motion Pokemon series in the works, called Pokemon Tales. A teaser trailer is out, the year attached to it is 2027, and the platforms named are Disney+ and Disney XD, under a worldwide distribution arrangement with The Pokemon Company International. The announcement is reported at Anime News Network. Pokemon Tales has no page here, so we can say nothing about where it will be watchable beyond what the source says.

What we can say is what our own pages state is free today. Our index records a reader demographic for each entry, and 484 of them are recorded as Kids and as a television series: one shelf inside an index of more than 20,000. All 484 pages were fetched twice today and returned the same result both times.

Of those 484, 27 state a free-episode count to a US reader, and three state exactly one episode. One, Chibi Maruko-chan, is set aside because our own audit found its stated number inflated, and we have no corrected figure to offer. That leaves 26 entries and 1,111 free episodes.

Where those episodes actually sit

Fourteen of the 26 belong to three toy and card-game franchises: Beyblade with seven entries, Future Card Buddyfight with four, Bakugan with three. Between them, 441 of the 1,111. Two more are Pokemon: the 1997 television series states 269 free episodes and Pokemon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire states 182, so 451 more.

Ten entries hold the remaining 219. Largest first: Digimon Adventure: (2020) with 67, Maya the Bee with 52, Heidi, Girl of the Alps with 50, Sherlock Hound with 26, Cybersix with 13, Sonic X with 5, The Adventures of the Little Prince with 3, and one each for Spider Riders, Kemono Friends and Gundam Build Divers.

The language gap

The three largest of those ten are not in English, and our pages print no language note for any of them. That is a gap in what we tell a reader. Digimon Adventure: sits on Toei Animation's own verified channel; its first episode, fetched today, carries a title stating Portuguese subtitles and exposes only an automatic Japanese caption track. Maya the Bee sits on a verified channel called "La Abeja Maya - Espanol Latino"; its episode 1, fetched today, has a Spanish title and only an automatic Spanish caption track. Heidi, Girl of the Alps is the same on a verified channel, "Heidi - Espanol".

Two complete runs, labelled English dub

Sherlock Hound is a 1984 series of 26 episodes at 25 minutes each. animesphere.app states all 26 free, the complete recorded run, on the verified "Anime! on TMS Official Channel", with the United States on the allow-list. Episodes 1, 13 and 26 were fetched today. Each upload title ends "English Dub | Full Episode" and names the episode number we store, each runs 1,504 seconds, and each carries an automatic English caption track generated from English audio.

Cybersix, 1999, 13 episodes at 23 minutes, is on the same channel with the same allow-list, and animesphere.app states all 13 free. Episodes 1, 7 and 13 resolved today and ran between 1,441 and 1,453 seconds. The channel labels them an English dub in its own titles; they carry no caption track, so that label is the evidence we have.
