Ranma 1/2 Season 3 Lands October 3. Our Takahashi Count Is Zero.
The third season has a date and two new cast names. It also has a problem for us: not one of the 44 Rumiko Takahashi entries we index carries a free episode.

The announcement
The Ranma 1/2 anime's third season now has a premiere date, October 3, 2026, and a new key visual to go with it. Masako Nozawa and Mayumi Tanaka are among the newly announced cast. We do not know which characters they will play, and we have no staff, episode-count or platform details for the season. Reported by Anime Corner.
Our Rumiko Takahashi number is zero
AnimeSphere indexes 44 entries across Rumiko Takahashi's adapted work. Ranma 1/2 accounts for 17 of them, including the 1989 television series at 143 episodes, the 2024 series and both its second and third seasons, plus films, OVAs and specials. Urusei Yatsura adds 13, among them the 1981 series at 195 episodes and the 2022 series. InuYasha adds seven, including the 167-episode television series and The Final Act. Maison Ikkoku brings four; Rin-ne brings three.
The number of those episodes that are free and viewable in the US on AnimeSphere, as of July 25, 2026, is zero. Not a partial run, not a first-episode sampler, zero across all 44 entries, and zero across the 17 Ranma entries on their own.
That is an uncomfortable thing for a free-anime index to print ahead of a new Takahashi season. We would rather print it than dress it up. We make no claim about what is available anywhere else; other services are outside what we can report on.
What we can actually hand you
Two 1980s series tagged as comedies in our catalogue do have free, US-viewable episodes from official channels.
High School! Kimengumi (1985) is catalogued at 86 episodes in total, of which 31 are free to watch here, from the official "It's Anime powered by REMOW" channel. They are Japanese audio with an authored English subtitle track, and the episode numbering on the uploads matches our listing. Thirty-one of 86 is a partial run. You will reach the end of what is free before you reach the end of the show.
Cat's Eye (1983) is the more complete option. All 36 episodes are free and US-viewable from "Anime! on TMS Official Channel". Of those, 33 carry English subtitles; the remaining three are raw Japanese uploads with no English track. If subtitles are non-negotiable for you, 33 is the number to plan around.
Neither is Ranma. Both are 1980s series with free episodes today, which the Takahashi shelf on this site has none of. October 3 is still the date to watch for; it just is not a date we can point you at from here.
