Five Tezuka manga are heading to Scholastic. Three of his anime state one free episode each
Princess Knight, Fushigi na Melmo and Don Dracula each state exactly one free episode on AnimeSphere, all from the same channel. Two complete pre-1990 runs show what the era can look like.

Scholastic is bringing five new titles to its Graphix imprint, all built on manga by Osamu Tezuka. The five, per Anime News Network, are Princess Knight; Zero Man; Triton of the Sea; Atomcat, also given as AstroCat; and The Three-Eyed One. Nothing about their release dates, format or translators is established.
Three of the five have an anime entry in our index. Princess Knight first aired in 1967 and we have 52 episodes recorded. Triton of the Sea, which we list as Umi no Triton, aired in 1972 with 27 recorded. The Three-Eyed One, listed as Mitsume ga Tooru, aired in 1990 with 48 recorded. We searched by title for Atomcat, AstroCat and Zero Man and found no anime entry under any of those names.
Only Princess Knight states a free episode, and it states one. Triton of the Sea and Mitsume ga Tooru state no free episode count at all.
Three Tezuka series, one episode each
Three series created by Osamu Tezuka state a free episode on animesphere.app, and each states exactly one: Princess Knight, one of a recorded 52; Fushigi na Melmo, first aired 1971, one of a recorded 26; and Tezuka Osamu no Don Dracula, first aired 1982, one of a recorded 8.
All three sit on one channel, recorded in our index as "Tezuka Productions Offical". That spelling is the channel's own, and it carries no YouTube verified badge. All three upload titles are marked "[OFFICIAL]" and "(ENGLISH SUB)". Recorded lengths run 1,535, 1,498 and 1,472 seconds, consistent with full episodes rather than clips. A frame from the Melmo upload today shows an English subtitle line burned into the picture, reading "Melmo!", so the subtitling lives in the image, not a caption track. The Princess Knight upload exposes no caption tracks at all, and a frame from it carries the word SAMPLE in the corner.
Tezuka's best-known series hold nothing free here. Astro Boy (1963), Astro Boy (1980), Kimba the White Lion (1965), Black Jack (1993) and Phoenix (2004) all state no free episode count today.
What a complete old run looks like instead
We record 1,355 entries first aired before 1990. All were fetched today with 0 failures, and 27 state a free episode count, 655 episodes between them. Among them are two whose free runs reach the final episode.
Speed Racer, from 1967, the same year as Princess Knight, states 52 free episodes against a recorded 52. The channel is TokuSHOUTsu, which does carry a verified badge. Upload numbering matches our stored episode numbers, with 0 videos filed under more than one number. The episode 1 watch page reports an authored English subtitle track next to an automatic Japanese caption track: Japanese audio, real subtitles. That upload runs 1,564 seconds against a recorded 25 minutes, and the country list is unrestricted.
GOD MAZINGER, from 1984, states 23 free against a recorded 23. The channel is Anime! on TMS Official Channel, also verified. Upload numbering matches our stored numbers, again with no video filed under more than one number. Only an automatic Japanese caption track is exposed, and a frame from episode 1 today shows a burned-in English line reading "Y-You're right." Episode 1 runs 1,451 seconds against a recorded 24 minutes, and the country list includes the United States.
