Ara-chan is a seal that somehow finds its way to Cromartie, and is accepted by Kamiyama and friends as an equal. They subsequently re-name it "Hokuto-kun", much to the chagrin of the real Hokuto, who attempts to kill it by drowning it, forgetting that seals can swim.
