Miroku Tachi

The lead character in Tsumi To Batsu. As the manga is an adaptation of Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment, he is modeled on Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov. Shown to be somewhat of a hikikomori at the start of the series, he is later revealed to have been a student at an elite university in Tokyo, and an aspiring writer with fairly good promise, as evidenced by his near-success at a contest hosted by a literary magazine.
