Akito Sudo is another Class A karuta player. Together with his teammates from Hokuō Academy Karuta Club he was playing against the Mizusawa Karuta Club. After his team loses to them, he gains respect for them and supports Chihaya. It has been noted that Sudo has incredible potential that is stifled by his tendency towards sadism.
