Anime spans every theme there is — including hard ones. We surface a quiet, opt-in advisory so you can decide what you're in the mood for, without spoiling the story.
Each title's content notes are derived from community-contributed descriptor tags — the same kind of crowd knowledge that powers our discovery tools. We map only genuine viewer-discretion textures (violence, gore, sexual content, substance use, and the heavier themes) into clear categories. The community tag “rank” becomes a plain intensity hint: Prominent, Present, or Minor.
The notes panel is collapsed by default — nothing is shown until you choose to open it. We deliberately map only content textures, never plot points, so opening the panel tells you what kind of content a show contains without telling you what happens. Heavier themes (such as sexual violence or suicide) are flagged as sensitive so you see them coming.
Animation can contain rapid flashing, strobing, or high-contrast scenes that may affect viewers with photosensitive epilepsy. If you are sensitive to flashing light, take care — and on devices that support it, enable “reduce motion.”
This is general guidance, not a medical assessment, and AnimeSphere is not a medical device. If you have photosensitive epilepsy or another condition affected by flashing light, follow the advice of a qualified professional.
Reduce flashing
Dims embedded video and stills looping animations to soften bright, flashing scenes. A partial aid, not a medical guarantee.
Content notes are built from community tags, not an official rating board. They can be incomplete or imprecise, and absence of a note is not a guarantee. Use your own judgement, and if something looks wrong you can help by improving the underlying tags upstream.
