Content notes & viewer discretion

Where the notes come from

Each title's content notes are derived from community-contributed descriptor tags — the same kind of crowd knowledge that powers our discovery tools. We map only genuine viewer-discretion textures (violence, gore, sexual content, substance use, and the heavier themes) into clear categories. The community tag “rank” becomes a plain intensity hint: Prominent, Present, or Minor.

Spoiler-safe by design

The notes panel is collapsed by default — nothing is shown until you choose to open it. We deliberately map only content textures, never plot points, so opening the panel tells you what kind of content a show contains without telling you what happens. Heavier themes (such as sexual violence or suicide) are flagged as sensitive so you see them coming.

Photosensitivity

Animation can contain rapid flashing, strobing, or high-contrast scenes that may affect viewers with photosensitive epilepsy. If you are sensitive to flashing light, take care — and on devices that support it, enable “reduce motion.”
