It is the rights holder publishing its own show, monetised with ads, as marketing for a card game that makes considerably more money than the anime ever will.

**RetroCrush** carries part of the original 2000 Duel Monsters run under licence.

Which series, and how much of each

The free supply is deep rather than wide, the channel has committed to large runs of a few series instead of a sampler of all of them.

Turbo Duels, card games on motorcycles, played entirely straight, sound like a parody and turn out to be the most confident the franchise ever was about its own absurdity. Yusei is the best-written protagonist in the series, and the Dark Signers arc is genuinely good television.

**Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V** follows with a large run, and it is the ambitious one: it pulls in the casts and duelling formats of every prior series, which makes it the worst possible entry point and a tremendous payoff if you have watched the others.

**Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal** is next, and it is the most divisive. Loud, fast, tonally strange. Its defenders are correct that it eventually earns its ending.

**Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS** has a small free run, the soft-reboot era, cleaner and more comedic. And the original **Yu-Gi-Oh!** Duel Monsters has a partial run via RetroCrush, which is the nostalgic one and the smallest slice of what is free.

What order to watch them in

You can start anywhere. This is the thing people get most wrong about Yu-Gi-Oh!: each series is a self-contained cast, era, and set of rules. There is no ongoing plot you are missing.

Chronologically it runs Duel Monsters, GX, 5D's, Zexal, ARC-V, VRAINS, SEVENS, then GO RUSH. Practically, start with whichever has the most free episodes right now, currently 5D's, and go from there. Only ARC-V genuinely rewards having seen the earlier shows.

Is watching it here legal?

Yes, and the reasoning is worth stating once because it applies to everything on this site.
