One-Punch Man Season 3 Review — The Monster Association Raid Deserved Better

Who is this season for? Honestly: people already invested enough in One-Punch Man that they need to see the Monster Association arc animated, in some form, at any cost. The 2025 third season adapts the raid on the Monster Association hideout — S-Class heroes assembling to rescue a hostage while Garou, the self-made "human monster," wakes up inside enemy walls. On paper, that's the most fight-dense stretch this franchise has, a gauntlet of hero-versus-monster matchups that should be an action director's playground.

The execution is where it hurts. This is material that lives or dies on impact frames and escalation, and too many of the season's confrontations settle for held stills, slow pans, and cutaways right when the choreography should be peaking. The comedic timing — Saitama's bored deadpan against apocalyptic stakes — survives better than the action does, and Garou remains the franchise's best idea: a villain arc built on resenting how neatly society sorts heroes from monsters. When the season slows down for him, you can feel the story underneath still working.

But a 50 average from the community is not a hazing ritual; it reflects a real gap between what this arc is on the page and what made it to screen.
