There's a moment early in takt op.Destiny where the fight choreography syncs to its musical premise and the whole screen seems to move on the beat — and for those minutes, this 2021 series looks like a future classic. The action here is legitimately elite: clean silhouettes, readable spacing, camera moves that follow the momentum instead of chopping it up. When this show fights, you always know where everyone is and why the hit matters, which is rarer than it should be.

The setup has real pull too. A road trip across a hostile landscape, a prickly partnership between a pianist and the weapon-girl bound to him, battles built around classical music as a power source — the ingredients are all premium. Across its twelve episodes, the best stretches ride that partnership hard, letting the bickering-duo chemistry set the tempo between set pieces.

Where it drops the beat The problem is everything between the fights. The plot moves in lurches — long stretches of low-stakes wandering, then sudden escalations the story hasn't built toward — and the emotional beats keep arriving before the characters have done the work to earn them. It's a pacing failure more than a concept failure, which almost makes it more frustrating; the show clearly knows how to control rhythm inside a fight scene and forgets the skill everywhere else.
